A New Journey

I've decided to take a journey.  This journey will have to be a day by day commitment for me.  Over the course of the next few weeks, I'm committing to try the vegetarian lifestyle.

I'm not even considering veganism yet and perhaps never.

Here's what I am committing too eating...or not eating.

For the next week I will not eat......chicken
                                                 ......beef
                                                 ......lamb
                                                 ......turkey
                                                 ......crustaceans (shrimp, crab, lobster)
                                                 ......or any other meat

I will still eat...................................eggs
                    ...................................fish
                    ...................................butter
                    ...................................cheese

I plan on sharing my dietarian eating habits with you, my readers, as a way to hold me accountable.  Also, if you have an recipes I would love for you to send them my way.  (I really like this recipe from one of my sponsors "Happy in Life, Young in Love."  It's a Black Bean Burger.  Yum.)

I really believe this is going to be fun and I would love to hear your journey about eating or any other lifestyle change.

What's a lifestyle change you're working on?

  2. Good luck with the change!
I am on what I previously would have called a "diet" journey, but is now a lifestyle change. Eating healthier and walking.

  3. I was a vegetarian for a year when I was a teenager! It was easier than I thought it would be! I did it for "moral" reasons, I was making a point, basically... and I eventually got hungry enough for bacon to stop... BUT, I wish you the best of luck! It's something I would love to do again, permanently! Looking forward to journey!

  8. This sounds like a great idea. I was watching "Thor" last night and I turned to my husband and said: "You know why Natalie Portman is so skinny? It's because she's a vegan."

Of course, that's not the only good thing about it!

Though I stay away from meat as much as possible, I have never gone vegan or vegetarian. But in all my nutrition research, books, and classes (I'm in nursing school) there are so many health benefits to it! Just make sure you're eating the right fruits, vegetables, grains, or supplements to make up for the lack of meat.

    Good luck! xoxo

    1. Thank you. I was at the health store last night and one of the cashiers said that she was a vegetarian for a year, but she had to quit because she wasn't taking the correct supplements.
