dawns & twilights

Last night I felt it. Honestly, I was slightly surprised. It's been gone for nearly a year, but last night I felt the cool wind of Autumn and I knew she was near.

Autumn brings a great many things with her.  There's the family events soon to come and, of course, the famed Pumpkin Spice Latta. In my life she brings the return of Christmas rehearsals and busy week nights. But more than that, She marks an end that's approaching.

Autumn brings the rain and I love the rain.  She brings the cool.  She brings the color. She brings the warmth of a sweater. She brings family and I love family.

And somehow in the ending I find a new beginning.

Life is much the same way, full of dawns and twilights--the dawning of a new day, the closing of another--but in them all some how there's beauty.

So as twilight begins, just before the long night's sleep, I'll enjoy the rain and the cool and the color and the warmth. I'll enjoy the community of family and the sisterhood of friends. And then, when night creeps in I'll sleep in peace.

Fall Comes Softly {a playlist}

I can't help but notice the extreme number of posts, tweets, and status updates about the coming of fall.  Despite the relatively mild summer for the green country of Oklahoma, fall is {always} a welcomed retreat.

There's something about fall that signifies a slow down of life...a cool down of the schedule...the coming of family and friends...the holidays.  Yes, the holidays.

I welcome their return.

Enjoy!

a Week of Thanksgiving...Lanie Luttrell

Photobucket

Hello, let me introduce myself. I am Lanie Luttrell from "Shoutin' It Loud" and let me just say I am SUPER excited to be here! Thank you so much, Danette, for giving me this opportunity to guest post. It is definitely an honor to post on one of my favorite blogs.

A couple things I am thankful for is God, Jesus, The Holy Spirit, the Bible, my family (including my pets), my church, friends (this includes your pets too!), my house, food, clothing, and showers. Now this may be the basics, but not everyone has the basic necessities. But there is a couple things I would like to share with you that I'm recently thankful for that has been radiating in my heart.

So lately I have been reading in the 4 gospels and something that has really been brought to my attention is when Jesus feeds several people with what looks like not enough. Every time the disciples ask if there would be enough, Jesus took the food and gave thanks and there would always be food left over after satisfying all the people in the crowd. (Mark 8:1-13)

There are several things you can pull from this story, but one thing I pulled out is the simple truth that He, God, is always enough. In fact, He is MORE than enough! When it looks like we won't have enough to get us through, we can still give thanks to Him for what we do have, and God will take care of us as long as we keep our eyes and heart on Him. That is another thing I am thankful for. Just remember, God will NEVER leave us, or forsake us!

So anyway, Here is some more things I am thankful for that, well, isn't a need, but things I enjoy!
Music, my instruments (I practically collect them... there's so many!), my phone, the mall, my car Lulu, computer, twitter, Facebook, and last but definitely not least, my blog!

Thank you so much All My Love for All My Days readers! I would love to hear back from you! Just comment below!

Wanna come check me out, or at least... check out my blog?! Then here ya go!  http://lanieluttrell.blogspot.com/

I am thankful you read this :)

A is for Autumn (and Anxiety)

Hi, I'm Brooke from The Intentional Momma blog. I want to thank Danette for having me! She is such an encouragement to me, and I'm thankful for her!

As an educator with a toddler at home, I am constantly dreaming up new activities, and today I am sharing my newest educational freebie--my A is for Autumn Color-and-Trace preschool pack! Featuring apples, ants, and acorns in autumn colors, your little ones can practice tracing, counting, coloring, and matching with this super simple printable mini-workbook.

As for me, the A-word that I find myself facing so much as an adult is the word anxiety. I find myself worrying so often! A verse that I must constantly reflect upon is one you probably know. But I'll leave you with this one other printable, also in autumn colors, in hopes that it might be an encouragement to you if you tend to be a worrier like me!
